Winnie Harvey
A celebration of Winnie’s life will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel with Bro. Dennis Davis and Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Twin Oaks Cemetery with lunch being provided at Calvary Baptist Church.
Winnie,85, walked right into the arms of her Savior and her husband, Dan, on July 10, 2019 and has been rejoicing ever since.
Pallbearers will be Ken Clayton, Josh Garrett, Kortney Garrett, Casey Harvey, Brenden Harvey, Kevin Willard, Austin Harvey, and J.D. Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Kiper, Donnie Pounds, Mike Carter, John Fauver, Steve DeMerritt, Vanessa Harvey, Kelsie Sanchez, Kenzie Taylor and Kandice Barley.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 1p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Winnie was born October 27, 1933 in Durant, Oklahoma; to Burl T. Phillips and Bonnie Shelton Phillips. She moved to Artesia in 1939 from Oklahoma.
On August 31, 1955, she was married to Daniel M. Harvey in Artesia. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2011.
She was a bookkeeper and member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and loved to read and babysit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being a part of the Fab Five group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Judy Fleming and a grandson D. Robert-Martin Harvey.
Survivors include her sons Daniel B. Harvey wife Diana and Tim Harvey wife Holly both of Artesia; grandchildren Nathaniel B. Harvey, Brenden Harvey wife Heather, Casey Harvey, and Vanessa Harvey all of Artesia and Stacy Harvey of Lubbock Texas; great-grandchildren Austin Harvey of Huntsville, Texas, J.D. Harvey of Lubbock Texas, Kaylan Wood, Caliber Harvey, Corbin Harvey-Mayberry, and Wik Harvey all of Artesia; nieces, Jeannette, Kay, Cindy and nephew Gary.
