Zada Baca-Ponce

Zada Kai Baca Ponce passed away on March 9, 2017 in Roswell, New Mexico.

She was born on May 1, 2002 in Carlsbad, NM; the daughter of Monica Baca and Able Ponce, Jr. She was raised in Artesia, lived in Roswell and attended Goddard High School. She loved cuddling with her pet cat "Batman" and taking her dog "Buddy" for walks to the dog park. Zada was an avid reader, very well known at the Public and school library. Listening to music was a fun hobby for her, as well as being an awesome softball player, but loved the 49ers even more. Zada had a loving, caring heart and always wanted to help others. She will be sincerely deeply missed by all of her loved ones she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents David Baca and Olga Olivas, grandfather Joe Mendoza, her great-grandfathers, and cousin Adriana Huber.

Survivors include her mother Monica Baca and her partner Calletano Chavarria of Artesia; father Abel Ponce Jr, of Artesia; sisters Angeline Ponce, Adela Ponce and Jacinta Ponce all of Artesia; brother Abel Ponce III; God brother Adrian Huber; grandparents Antonio Baca and Sally Baca of Albuquerque, NM, and Lucy Mendoza of Artesia; great-grandmothers Refujia Olivas of Artesia and Mage Lugo; expected niece Janaey Olga Brown; aunt and uncle Tony and Angela Baca of Carlsbad, Michelle Baca of Albuquerque, David Baca II of Artesia, Augustine Baca of Albuquerque, Donald and Maria (Nina) Huber of Artesia, Marcos and Lyla Baca of Houston, TX, Jerry and Selia Barreras of Albuquerque; several cousins, great-aunts and uncles, friends and family members.
