Yilario Ramirez

October 21, 1933 — January 3, 2017

Yilario L. "Larry" Ramirez of Artesia, N. M. went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Larry was in Plano, Texas when he joined hands with his Savior. Because of his faith and his love for Jesus, Larry is most assuredly walking the streets of gold hand in hand with his wife, Talo.

Larry was born on October 21, 1933 in Artesia, NM to Jose M. Ramirez and Maria Lara Ramirez. The oldest of ten children, Larry left school at an early age to help provide for his siblings. He was a humble, quiet man who always tried to set the example and sacrificed for others even to the end of his life. In 1954, Larry was drafted into the United States Army. He completed his boot camp at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX and served his tour of duty at Fort Dix in Trenton, New Jersey. After completing his service, he returned to Artesia and worked at White's Auto Store for 25 years. He later worked for GEO Vann and the City Artesia. Larry loved playing baseball, watching western movies and being spending with family and his close friends. When he called you friend, you were friends for life.

On May 25, 1957, Larry married the love of his life, Natividad "Talo" Perez in Artesia. Their marriage was truly brought together by God as they shared a lifetime of love, loyalty, commitment and sacrifice. Three children were born of this beautiful union, Jose Alfredo "Joe Freddie" Ramirez; Patricia "Pat" Crowe and Elmira "Mira" Marquez. Larry, a devoted husband and father, blessed his wife and children beyond measure by the love he gave. Just as he set the example for his siblings, he showed his children, their spouses and his grandchildren what it meant to be a husband, father and grandfather. Even though Larry was small in stature he was a gentle giant and honorable man. Larry's life was forever changed the day his loving wife of 56 years, Talo, went to heaven on October 3, 2013. Certainly, God looked upon Larry at his arrival in heaven and said "This is my son, in whom I am well pleased."

Survivors include his son, Joe Freddy Ramirez of Artesia, NM; Daughter-in-Law, Alice Ramirez of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Pat Crowe and husband, Kurt of Artesia, NM and daughter, Mira Marquez and husband Rene of Midland, TX; six grandchildren, Scott Joseph Ramirez; Pamela Jo Mendoza; Robert David Ramirez; Melissa Aaron Crowe; Brent Jordan Crowe and Emily Brooke Crowe and ten great-grandchildren.
