Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22 at Woodbine Cemetery for Wilma Laura Kendrick-Mauldin of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Mrs. Mauldin, 99, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Las Cruces.
Jimmy Hamilton and Jason Kraft will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Friday from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Wilma was born August 7, 1917 in Maplesville, Alabama to William Hugh Perry and Florence (Perrin) Perry.
On February 16, 1934 she was married to Melvin Kendrick in Centerville, Alabama. Melvin and her moved to Artesia in 1953 from Alabama. Wilma was a longtime Artesia resident until moving to Las Cruces a few years ago. Melvin preceded her in death on February 11, 1965. On August 14, 1998 she married Cecil Mauldin. Cecil preceded her in death on August 26, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, and a step-daughter.
Wilma worked as a sales clerk for 16 years at Anthony's. She was a very active member and enjoyed helping where ever she could at West Main Baptist Church. Wilma was also an Eastern Star and celebrated her 50 year membership. She enjoyed sewing and loved to be able to spend time with her family.
Wilma is survived by her daughters Jean Kendrick Durham and partner Joe Bevers of Artesia and Marcia Kendrick Henderson and husband Loyd of Las Cruces; children by marriage Helen Lund Yancy and husband David, Roberta Reeves Adain and husband James, Pat Reeves, Renee Mauldin Guthrie and husband John, Cathy Mauldin Pennington, and Judy Mauldin Fulton and husband Louisl; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of step grand and great-grandchildren.
