Willie Mccoy

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 22, from 2 to 6 pm at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Willie Waunell McCoy of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. McCoy, 94, died on June 18, 2023 in Artesia,

Waunell was born on May 23, 1929 in Roswell, New Mexico; the daughter of Zack William Simer and Mollie Elizabeth Hamilton Simer.

She was married to G. R. "Jake" McCoy. She loved to be outdoors gardening, tending to the lawn and flowers. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, supporting Disabled Veterans, and most of all spending time with her best friend great-grandson Clinton Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother James Douglas Simer.

Survivors include her son Bennie Ray Peel Jr.; a daughter Melinda Beth Davis; grandson Clinton Wayne White; great-grandson Clinton Jamie White Jr.; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
