William Morrisey

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for William Paul Morrisey of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Morrisey, 72, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Rolan, Ben Parsons, Jack Brannon, Ed Forelines, Charlie McGlynn, and Van Webster. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Tasker, Charles Polson, and Charlie Lamkin.

Mr. Morrisey was born December 24, 1938 in Long Island, New York the son of William Morrisey, Sr. and Millie Tomasovic Morrisey. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

On Sept. 12, 1964 he was married to Jeanette Scarinci in New Hyde Park, N.Y. He came to Artesia in 1980 from Vero Beach, Florida.

He attended Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy, Queens College in NYC and was in the United States Naval Reserve.

He owned and operated Artesia Lighting and Cabinetry and the Jahva House. He was a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God, a board member and a very active member of the church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Jeanette, his son, Robert Morrisey of Artesia, his daughter, Christi Laman and her husband Travis, four grandchildren, Kelsi, Kaitlyne, Wesley, and Matthew all of Carlsbad, N.M. and his sister, Lynda McGlynn and her husband Charles of Stuart, Florida. He is also survived by his sister in law Camille Gagliano and her husband Victor of Floral Park, NY and his brother in law, John Scarinci and his wife, Florence of Franklin Square, NY.
