William Livingston

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 6, at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel for Dr. William Livingston of Artesia, New Mexico.

Dr. Livingston, 89, died June 28, 2019 in Artesia.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Doc was born November 6, 1929 in Portales NM to Kenneth Livingston and Ruth (Hanson) Livingston.

In 1951 he was married to Wanda Hallford in Portales. He attended Eastern New Mexico University and after graduation he received a degree in Veterinarian Medicine from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He practiced in Batesville, Mississippi for a couple of years before moving to Artesia and opened Livingston Animal Clinic. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Elks, Rotary and enjoyed racquetball, horses, and researching lotions and potions and looking for new cures.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and two grandsons Andrew Livingston and Landon Livingston.

Survivors include his sons Ken Livingston and wife Irene of Lovington, NM, Robert Livingston and wife Janet of Artesia, and Kirk Livingston and wife Janis of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Amber Romero, Kendall Livingston, Lee Livingston, Lisa Brooker, Sam Livingston, and Ruth Carruthers; 16 great-grandchildren and companion Mildred Waters.
