Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 1, at First Baptist Church for William B. Holly, 1402 Briscoe Ave., Artesia, NM. Mr. Holly, 83, died Friday, November 28, 2003 at his home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Richard Holly, Ben Holly, Craig Holly, Rock Holly, Barry Holly, Ronny Holly, Matt Holly, Lyle Holly, Ryan Rogers, Jon Paul Bynum, and Ed Vinson. Mr. Holly was born September 18, 1920 in Becton, Texas; the son of Ben B. Holly and Mattie Parrack Holly. On August 9, 1943 he was married to Nita Wilson in Lubbock, Texas. He came to Artesia in 1946 from Lubbock. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a welder and owned and operated Artesia Iron Works. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Holly was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Art Holly; and by two granddaughters. Survivors include his wife Nita Holly of the family home; sons Randy Holly of Temple, Texas, Don Holly and wife Marcia of Inglewood, Colorado, and Ray Holly of Artesia; daughters Terrye Rogers and husband Ernie of Goode, Virginia, and Jo Bynum and husband Ronnie of Angel Fire, N.M.; a brother Leroy Holly and wife Irene of Artesia; a sister Vialma Vinson and husband LaVerne of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Daisy Holly of Lubbock; ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Gilbert and Glynn Kreamer of Artesia.
