Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 5 at Hood Mortuary in Durango, Colorado for former Artesia NM and Lovington NM resident Wesley A. Briscoe of Durango. Family and friends will officiate. Mr. Briscoe, 45, died Saturday, November 1, 2003 in Bayfield, Colo. Graveside services are scheduled at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 8 at the Upper Hope Cemetery in Hope, N.M. with J.T. Ross officiating. Wesley was born June 26, 1958 in Artesia; the son of Edgar C. Tom Briscoe and Pearl McCabe Briscoe. He moved to the Durango area six years ago and was a longtime area lineman. He enjoyed being a Cowboy and Team Roping. He was everyones best friend and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He touched many hearts, was changed by few, and loved by all. He was preceded in death by his father Tom Briscoe in 1983 and by a nephew Troy Briscoe in 2001. Survivors include his mother Pearl Johnson of Hope; a son Casey A. Briscoe and wife Kiele S. Briscoe of Rocky Ford, Colo.; a daughter Lori Hollis and husband Nathan of Lubbock, Texas; the mother of his children Claudette McDonald of Lovington; brothers Curtis Briscoe of Carlsbad, N.M. and Phillip Briscoe of Colorado; sisters Marlene Head of Lovington, Earvelle Schneider of Hope, Wilma Privetts of Artesia, and Lana Powell of Lubbock; granddaughters Ashley Hollis and Brianna Hollis both of Lubbock; 18 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews.
