Wendell Myers, Sr.

Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20 at Woodbine Cemetery for Wendell "Windy" Lee Myers, Sr. of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Myers, 87, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

Pastor Monty Leavell will officiate at the services.

Windy was born April 30, 1930 in Sofia, New Mexico to George Myers and Agnes (Hampton) Myers. He was a longtime Artesia resident.

On April 19, 1949 he was married to Pauline Settlemire in Roswell, N.M.

Windy had his own welding business and was a contractor for AMOCO for a number of years before retiring in 1995. He and Pauline attended First United Methodist Church before he was unable to but faithfully listened to the service on the radio after that. Windy was a hard worker and had the belief that working is just what you were to do. In his spare time he enjoyed square dancing with Pauline and love his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Myers.

Windy is survived by his wife Pauline of the family home; daughter Jeani Myers of Albuquerque; son Wendell Myers, Jr. and wife Gayla of Brazoria, Texas; sister Georgia Ferrin of Roswell, N.M.; grandchildren Andrew Myers and wife Leslie of Austin, Texas, Evan Myers and wife Leeann of Brazoria, and Lindsay Rice and husband Blake of Lake Jackson, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
