Wavis Jackson

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, at the Upper Hope Cemetery for Wavis Jackson of Artesia. Mrs. Jackson, 53, died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital. Dwayne Milliron will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Jackson was born September 15, 1951 in Carlsbad, N.M.; the daughter of Hershell E. Bragg and Dorothy F. White Bragg. On March 13, 1970 she was married to Evans Jackson III in Carlsbad, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1998 from Hope. She was an administrative secretary for the Court System, State of New Mexico and of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her parents and an uncle. Survivors include her husband Evans Jackson III of the family home; son Shannon Wade Jackson of Belgium; brother Robert Bragg of Goldsmith, Texas; sister Nancy Milliron of Ft. Sumner, N.M.; grandchildren Gregory Alexander Jackson of Florida, and Lexi Jackson of Belgium.
