A gathering of family and friends in honor of Wanda Wilson-Ross will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15 in the Fireside room at Hermosa Church of Christ in Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Wilson-Ross, 75, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas.
Wanda was born December 31, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas to Orvall Jewel Warner and Minnie (Day) Warner.
On May 2, 1957 she married Thomas BR Wilson in Lovington, N.M. They moved to Artesia in 1960 from Texas. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marjorie Stegall. Then on December 14, 2012 she married JT Ross in Roswell, N.M.
Wanda worked as a nurse at the Artesia Hospital for many years. After leaving the hospital she then was a bookkeeper for her families business. She was a member of the Fox & Lake Church of Christ in Carlsbad, N.M. and a former member of the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. Her love in life was spending time with her family and especially grandchildren as they referred to her as "Mimi".
She is survived by her husband JT Ross of the family home; son David Wilson and wife Diana of Artesia; brother Orvall Leon Warner of Corsicana, Texas; sister Marie Kinsey of Greenwood, Texas; and grandchildren Lacy Jay Wilson and Justin Dean Wilson.
