Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 7, at Victory Baptist Church for Walter Ray Wolfe Jr., 47 Gary Dr., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Wolfe, 72, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at his home. Pastor Michael A. Maurer will officiate at the services with burial at Saint Hollow Cemetery in Pearsall, Texas. Pallbearers will be Myron Stufflebean, Shawn Stufflebean, Bob Sinclair, Roy Jaques, Billy Martin, and Charles Franks. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Stufflebean and the grandchildren. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Wolfe was born May 13, 1934 in Pearsall, Texas; the son of Walter Ray Wolfe and Florsa Rodriguez Wolfe. He came to Artesia in 1980 from Texas. On May 22, 1985 he was married to Lois Sinclair in Plains, Texas. He was a floorhand and member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a pilot, loved music and playing the guitar, dancing, Bulldog Football, and was an avid athlete in High School in all sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, Step-mother, 3 Brothers, and 2 Sisters. Survivors include his wife Lois Wolfe of the family home; son Charles Franks of Artesia; daughters Melinda Petree and husband Wendall of Lovington, N.M., Becky Showers of Artesia, Rhonda VanCuren and husband Clifford of Artesia; son-in-law Dennis Showers of Quemado, N.M.; sisters Anita Bell of Oak Harbor, Washington, Becky Tiller and husband Lamar of Pearsall, Shelly Wolfe of Pearsall, Mary Wolfe of Pearsall, Penny Busby and husband Butch of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Rosie Huntly and husband Roger of Corpus Christi,Texas; brother Pat Wolfe and wife Kalasha of Pearsall; grandchildren Cody Petree and wife Brandy of Artesia, Chancy Ray Petree of Lovington, N.M., Joshua Greer of Midland, Texas, Walter Showers, Elisha Showers and Kelsey Showers all of Quemado, N.M., Charlie Franks of Artesia, and Stacey Ray Greer of Artesia; great-grandchildren Kobe and Dakota Petree of Artesia; numerous nieces and nephews.
