Walter Schiel

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Artesia Moose Lodge 2152 for Walter Buddy W. Schiel of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Schiel, 59, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home.

Cecil Kimberlin will officiate at the services. Cremation is under direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Mr. Schiel was born April 27, 1951 in WilkesBarre, Pennsylvania the son of Carl D. Schiel and Lola Jenkins Schiel.

On November 20, 1971 he was married to Mary Beth Hess in WilkesBarre. He came to Artesia in 1981 from Pennsylvania.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic and a member of the Artesia Moose Lodge. Buddy loved to work on cars and enjoyed relaxing at the river with his family and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents brother Carl Schiel and two nephews.

Survivors include his wife Mary Beth Schiel of the family home sons Walter Buddy Schiel, Jr. of Artesia, and Eric J. Schiel of Midland, Texas daughter Holly Schiel of Artesia brothers Barry Schiel of Laurel Run, Pennsylvania, and David Schiel of Nuengola, Penn. sisters Lori Cienciva of Bear Creek, Penn., and Sharon McGowan of Bear Creek 4 grandchildren Courtney Schiel, Jace Schiel, Ashley Matthews, and Josh Matthews.
