Vivian Deans

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, at Woodbine Cemetery for Vivian Marie Deans of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Deans, 88, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at Good Life in Artesia, New Mexico.

Michael Joiner will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Nubbin Crouch, J.T. Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Lowell Irby, Bob Cates, Tyler Deans, J.D. Deans, Michael Blackwell, Chris Simons, and Lee Mallet.

Vivian was born October 17, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas; the daughter of Charles A. White and Lilly (Eschberger) White.

On January 29, 1946 she was married to A.J. Deans in San Angelo, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1957 from Bronte, Texas. He preceded her in death April 10, 2011.

Vivian was a homemaker and a member of Hermosa Church of Christ. She was an avid outdoors lady including hunting and fishing, and she loved to paint.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sons Mike Deans and wife Judy of Artesia, Scott Deans and wife Corrine of Story, Wyoming, and Alan Deans and wife Peg of Artesia; grandchildren Arlas Blackwell and husgand Michael, Stephanie Simons and husband Chris, Megan Deans, Tyler Deans and wife Myra, and J.D. Deans and wife Stephanie; great-grandchildren Payton Deans, Jace Deans, Abigail Blackwell, Holly Blackwell, Rexton Blackwell, Deacon Simons, and Dawson Simons; and a brother Victor White and wife Rita of Rockport Texas.
