Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Virginia Lee Cockrum of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Cockrum, 65, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia.
Michael Elliott will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Herrera, Joshua Smith, Hunter Baugh, and Ethan Murphy.
Virginia was born January 17, 1951 in Artesia; the daughter of John O'brien and Lois (Rooker) O'brien. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.
On April 28, 1969 she was married to Steve Cockrum in Pecos, Texas.
Virginia was a saleslady at Marsha's in Artesia and a member of Cornerstone Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her spouse Steve Cockrum of the family home; son Stephen Craig Cockrum and wife Robin of Bridgeport, Texas; daughter Amy Herrera and husband Gerald of Artesia; grandchildren Jonathon Herrera and wife Jenna, Chelsi Baugh and husband Hunter, Tori Cockrum, Joshua Smith, Jordan Herrera, and Lexi Cockrum; sisters Janice Allen of Austin, Texas and Cheryl Butts and husband Jerry of Artesia.
