Virginia Burch

Memorial services are scheduled at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 2, at First Presbyterian Church for Virginia Burch, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Burch, 88, died Monday, September 30, 2002 at Eastern NM Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Rev. John Mills, Jr. will officiate at the services. Burial will take place at Woodbine Cemetery. Mrs. Burch was born October 19, 1913 in Concordia, Kansas; the daughter of Harry Goodell and Dessie McCarty Goodell. On Jan. 1, 1937 she was married to Hugh Donald Burch in Raton, NM. She came to Artesia in 1923 from Clayton, NM. He preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1987. She was a retired secretary for Valley Savings Loan and a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Hospital Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels . Survivors include sons Phil Burch of Artesia, Mike Burch of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Betty Price of Artesia; brothers Lawrence Goodell of Roswell, Harry Goodell of Seattle, Washington; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
