Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Woodbine Cemetery, for Victor Charles Haldeman, 513 S. Haldeman Road, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Haldeman, 91, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital. Vernon Swift will officiate at the services.
Mr. Haldeman was born August 25, 1918 in Collegeport, Texas the son of William T. Haldeman and Vernie I. Campbell Haldeman.
On January 18, 1941 he was married to Dorothy Mae Wake in Carlsbad, NM.
He was a longtime Artesia resident.
He was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Strangite, in 1945 he was appointed Sgt. in the N.M. State Guard, and was a charter member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Artesia. Vic took great joy in fishing, hunting, reading, collecting and especially upon retiring from the farm, supervising others. He began Haldeman Boats and Motors in the mid1930s and he and his son continued the business until the 1990s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Vivian Tidwell and a brother Vance Haldeman.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Haldeman of family home son Charles Haldeman and wife Kandy of Artesia brother Vernon Haldeman and wife Virginia of Artesia grandson Casey Haldeman and many nieces and nephews.
