Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22,at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Vickie Navarrette Huerta, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Huerta, 80, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at her home.
Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jaycob Huerta, Matthew Huerta, Lloyd Plum, Ricky Esquibel, Mike Panzer, Robert Duncan, and Roy Salsberry.
A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.
Vickie was born August 22, 1935 in Ojinaga, Mexico; the daughter of Santos Navarrette and Erlinda (Zepeda) Navarrette. She was a longtime Artesia resident.
On Oct. 13, 1954 she was married to Guadalupe S. Huerta in Artesia. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 2012.
She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Mary Huerta Romero, a son Lupe Huerta Jr., 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include sons Ernie Huerta and wife Olga of Pearland, Texas, Tony Huerta of Artesia, and Tommy Raglin of Artesia; daughters Ernestina Navarrette and husband Simon of Artesia, and Minerva Forister and husband Steve of Artesia; Son-in-law Bernie Romero of Artesia; brother David Navarrette of Ojinaga, Mexico; sisters Margarita Morales of Artesia, Eva Navarrette of Ojinaga, Linda Leyba of Artesia, and Irene Pando of Ojinaga; grandchildren Matthew Huerta, Sabrina Lara, Ashley Forest, Ysela Plum and husband Lloyd, Ysenia Navarrette, Lillie Krystal Forister, and Shanelle Forister; great-grandchildren Jaycob Huerta, Emileigh Lara, Trinity Forest, Noah Forest, and Malia Forest.
