Vicki Hash

August 15, 1957 — April 4, 2011

Vicki C. Hash, 53, of Cloudcroft, N.M., passed away April 4, 2011, in Austin, Texas, following complications of a stroke and ensuing illness. She was the youngest of seven children born to Lester Coleman and Bernice Durbin George on August 15, 1957, in Artesia, N.M.

Vicki graduated Artesia High School in 1975 and attended San Juan Community College in Farmington, N.M., and a business college in Albuquerque. She later returned to Artesia to work at 1st National Bank for 15 years. Vicki was a member of the Eastern Star of Artesia and was president of Artesia Business Womens Association.

Vicki and Whit Hash were married in Artesia June 23, 1990. Eleven years ago they moved to Cloudcroft, where they owned and operated Farside Food and Health for five years. Vicki then became a fulltime homemaker and mother to their daughter, Chloe Alise Hash. Vicki loved to decorate and celebrate all the holidays and birthdays, even those of their beloved Scotties Kate and Bonnie. Vicki was a wonderful mother and a wonderful wife whose radiant smile could make all things right in the world. Her great joy in life was her husband and daughter.

Vicki is survived by her husband Joseph Whitney Hash and her fiveyearold daughter Chloe Alise of Cloudcroft. Surviving siblings are Mary C. Noble, Idaho Falls, ID Glenda Doughty, Anne Waller and husband Glenn and Steve George and wife Shelley, all of Artesia. Vicki is also survived by sisterinlaw Camille S. George, four aunts, one uncle, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Kafton and brother Lester C. Skip George, Jr.

Services will be at 10 a.m. April 8, 2011 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 809 S. 10th St., Artesia, with the Reverend Maurice Geldert, Vicar, presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls. Pallbearers will be Rodney Campbell, Aaron George, Steve George, Chris Mann, Larry Noble and Larry Williams. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery.
