Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 7, at Terpening Son Chapel, Artesia, N.M., for Verna Mozel Pittman, 1301 W. Country Club Rd. 18, Roswell, New Mexico.
Mrs. Pittman, 77, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Roswell.
Don Price will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.
Verna was born July 3, 1934 in Chilicothe, Texas the daughter of Ocie Compton and Beulah McPeak Compton. She came to Artesia in 1963 from Farmington, NM.
On Sept. 17, 1955 she was married to Rudolph Pittman in Odessa, Texas. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 2006.
She was a supervisor for Artesia Public School Cafeterias a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God, and attended WayMaker Church in Roswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include sons Kenneth Pittman and wife Judy of Roswell, and Kevin Pittman and wife Nan of Brownfield, Texas sisters Jo Sapien of Roswell, and Joyce Craft of Odessa, Texas sisterinlaw Merle Graves and husband Jerry of Swartz, Louisiana brotherinlaw Billy Barnes of Swartz 7 grandchildren Laurie Aguilar of Lubbock, Texas, Lt. Samuel Pittman of Ft. Lewis, Washington, Erin Edwards and husband Rowdee of Lubbock, Allee Pittman of Brownfield, Kelsey Pittman of Brownfield, Pvt. 1st Class McKaylee Pittman of Roswell, and Satchel Pittman of Roswell greatgrandchild Madison Aguilar of Lubbock.
