Verda Raper-Wall-Mauldin

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, at Woodbine Cemetery for Verda May Raper-Wall-Mauldin, of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Mauldin, 85, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Landsun Health Service Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rev. Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Mauldin was born August 18, 1921 in Pawnee, Oklahoma; the daughter of Victor Raper and Susie Johnson Raper. Verda was married to Morris A. Mauldin in Carlsbad. She came to Artesia in 1964 from Roswell, N.M. He preceded her in death in January of 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Dexter, N.M. Verda was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her sons Wesley Wall of Ranchester, Wyoming, and Darrell Wall and wife Rita of Carlsbad; daughter Susan Deichman of Roswell; sisters Veda Baker of San Bernardino, California, and Ernestine Hollyfield of Timpson, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
