Graveside services were held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., March 10 at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Velma A. Webb of Alamogordo, N.M.
Mrs. Webb, 100, died Thursday March 8, 2018 at Gerald Champion Ray Medical Center in Alamogordo.
Jay Francis officiated at the service. Pallbearers were her family.
Velma was born April 16, 1917 in Wetumka, OK to Jesse and Josie (Davis) Wallace.
She was a long time Artesia resident before moving to Alamogordo.
On August 10, 1932 she was married to Harlin Grover Webb in Wetumka. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Patti Rue Meinke.
Velma was a retailer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Artesia. She collected antiques and had a passion for attending garage sales looking for those. Her love was her grandchildren and family and cooking and tending to them. Velma lived life to its fullest.
She is survived by her grandchildren Owen Meinke and wife Debbie of Artesia, John Meinke and wife Colleen of Midland, Texas, and Michelle Brown and husband Marlin of Clovis, N.M.; great-grandchildren Ian and Ty Meinke, Bonnie Meinke, Piper Goodnight, Hunter and Halle Brown; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
