Velma Tidwell

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, at Terpening Son Chapel for Velma B. Teet Tidwell, R349 N. 13th Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Tidwell, 74, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Artesia General Hospital. Pastor Steve Ormord will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Tidwell was born November 26, 1932 in Mountainair, New Mexico; the daughter of Bliss Bratcher and Maggie Farmer Bratcher. On April 23, 1965 she was married to Archie Tidwell in Albuquerque, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1965 from Albuquerque. She was a homemaker and a member of the Valley Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two sisters, and a grandson. Survivors include her husband Archie Tidwell of the family home; sons Rickie Owens of Loco Hills, N.M., and Bliss Lee Owens and wife Camille of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughters Linda Beadle and husband Barry of Artesia, Brenda Brintle and husband Rick of Artesia, Carla Owens and husband J.L. of Temple, Texas, and Vickie Davis of Temple; sisters Lorraine Johnson of Groesbeck, Texas, Thelma Brown of Albuquerque, and Zella Tidwell of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
