Valerie Fabela-Gonzales

Valerie Marie Fabela-Gonzales, 34, passed away June 5, 2016 at Baylor University in Dallas, TX. Born in Odessa, TX, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Fabela and the late Andres Fabela Jr. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia, NM and graduated with the Class of 2000. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music, laughing and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, laughter, warm personality and caring heart. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her 3 children Tomas Gonzales III, Mireya Y. Fabela, and Luis M. Segura III; her mom Liz Fabela; 2 sisters Andria Tavera (Jason Tavera) and Chrisy Fabela; 2 brothers Andres Fabela III (Elida Gomez) and Alex Fabela whom all reside in Artesia; her aunt Michelle Stevens; 1 great-grandmother Tina Fabela; 1 grandmother Manuela Parra; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her significant other Mario Segura.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tomas Gonzales III, Andy Fabela, Alex Fabela, Marcos Tavera, Mateo Tavera, Saul Peralta, Stevan Peralta, Mauricio Tavera, Jacob Fabela, Luis Mario Segura (Peanut), Mireya Fabela, Loretta Zarazua, Maribel Zarazua, and Aubriela Fabela.

Services will be held Monday, June 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1111 N. Roselawn Avenue. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery. A gathering and slide show to follow at Our Lady of Grace Reception Hall.
