Tyrone Meinke

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, December 23 at First Baptist Church for Tyrone Davis Meinke of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Meinke, 28, died on December 17, 2022 at his home in Artesia.

Ty Houghtaling will officate at the services. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kienan Goodnight, Hunter Brown, Bryce Troublefield, Jordan Blount, David Lopez, and Scott Foy. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary on Thursday from 2 to 6 pm.

Ty was born on October 12, 1994 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of Owen and Debbie Meinke.

Ty was a graduate of Artesia High School Class of 2013. He bowled on the high school bowling team for 4 years. He enjoyed dancing, hunting locally and internationally, being the Manager for the Artesia Bulldogs football program, he was also the manager of the high school baseball team during his senior year and a member of the Pecos Valley Special Olympics. He loved raising and showing goats for 4H. Ty loved traveling and staying in hotels. More recently he enjoyed working outside and caring for his chickens and his beloved dog, Maggie. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was loved by all who knew him. He loved the camaraderie of working with others and never said no to a challenge or a task.

Survivors include his parents Owen and Debbie Meinke; brother, Ian Meinke; aunts and uncles John H. Meinke and wife Colleen, and Michelle Brown and husband Marlin; cousins Bonnie Meinke, Piper Goodnight, Hunter Brown and Halle Perry.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations to be made to the Pecos Valley Special Olympics or the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home in Portales.
