Truett Loyd

April 20, 1925 — October 10, 2005

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 14, at Woodbine Cemetery for Truett Loyd of Roswell, New Mexico. Mr. Loyd, 80, died Monday, October 10, 2005 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Loyd was born April 20, 1925 in Rising Star, Texas; the son of Willis Alma Loyd and Buelah Viola Ives Loyd. On May 8, 1948 he was married to Betty Flinchbaugh in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was a longtime Artesia resident before moving to Roswell 8 years ago. He served in the NAVY during WW II. He worked for Navajo Refinery for 43 years until retiring in 1989. His last position held was Vice president of the pipe line. He was also involved with the Elks and the Masonic Lodge of Artesia where he was a life member of both. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Betty Loyd of the family home; son Ron Loyd and wife Billie of Artesia, N.M.; brothers Bobby Loyd and his family of Artesia, and Dewey Loyd of Midland, Texas; grandchildren Brad Loyd of Sante Fe, N.M., and Lori Jones and husband Verne of Ruidoso, N.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
