Trudie Jones

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, at Woodbine Cemetery for Trudie Dean Jones of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Jones, 92, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services.

Trudie was born November 20, 1918 in Roswell, New Mexico the daughter of Samuel Newton Mobley and Minnie Mahalia Weldy Mobley. She was a longtime Artesia area resident.

On April 25, 1936 she was married to Jack O. Jones in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death August 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents brother Tom Mobley and sisters Edna Fore and Lillie Mitchell.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Artesia.

Survivors include her daughters Eva Murdock of Artesia, Naomi Goss and husband Benny of Hobbs, N.M., Jackie Paxton of Odessa, Texas, and Ruby Fulkerson and husband Art of Hobbs sons Truman Jones of Artesia, Robert Jones and wife Maria of Midland, Texas, Gordon Jones of Artesia, and Johnnie Jones and wife Brenda of Loco Hills, N.M. sisters Mary Lockhart of Artesia, and Bonnie Henderson of Hobbs 20 grandchildren numerous greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreatgrandchildren.
