Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, at First Baptist Church for Travis Scott, 76 W. Blevins Road, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Scott, 69, died Thursday, November 14, 2007 at Thomason Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Elvin Reiser, Clyde Bratcher, Gilbert Orosco, Lalo Lopez, Carl Rogers, Dwight Youtsey, Bobby Walker, J.D. House, Doyle House, Jack Verhines, and nephews. Mr. Scott was born May 24, 1938 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of Jack Scott and Claudine House Scott. On April 26, 1963 he was married to Wanda Walker in Artesia, New Mexico. He was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the Amax Potash Mines for 30 years. He was of the Baptist denomination, charter member of the Moose Lodge, one of the early Bulldog football players and was an avid Artesia sports fan. He enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Wanda Scott of the family home; son Randy Scott and wife Leta of Artesia; daughter Pamela White of Artesia; 3 grandchildren Sara Scott, Codey Scott, and Jessica White.
