Tomasa Cabezuela

Funeral mass is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 16 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Tomasa N. Cabezuela of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Cabezuela, 91, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia.

Fr. Frances Lazer will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.

A rosary will be recited Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Tomasa was born on March 7, 1926 in Barancos de Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco Navarrette and Macrina (Machuca) Navarrette.

On September 20, 1950 she was married to Jose Cabezuela in Ojinaga, Mexico. They moved to Artesia in 1960 from Texas.

Tomasa was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was also a member of Sagrado Corazon de Jesus and a Cursillista. She had a passion for church and praying for many people incuding her family and her church family. Tomasa loved to spend time with all of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband Jose at the family home; sisters Josefa Fuentez and Irene Corrales both of Monahans, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
