Tom Chambers

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6 at Woodbine Cemetery for Tom Chambers of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Chambers, 93, passed away on July 1, 2018 at his home.

Tom was born on April 26, 1925 in Miller County Georgia; the son of Henry Thomas Chambers and Sara Della (Lane) Chambers. He married Juanita Sawyer in 1947 in Abilene, T.X.. He married Boncile Poston Branch in 1967 in Juarez, Mexico. She preceded him in death on October, 6, 2001. Tom came to Artesia in 1976 from Ft. Stockton, T.X.

He was a pumper in the oil field and of Baptist denomination. Tom enjoyed dancing at the Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons William Chambers and John Chambers, and 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include his son Kenneth Chambers of Artesia; step-sons Bob Branch and Larry Branch; step-daughter Doris King of Artesia; niece Joyce Wells of Waverly, V.A.; granddaughter Crystal Cobb of Dover D.E.; great-grandchildren Cristion and Halle; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
