Tim Duncan, 53 years old, of Artesia, NM entered Heavens gates on Monday March 25, 2013. A rosary will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia, on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Brian officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
Tim Duncan was born to Marion L. Duke Duncan and Joy D. Duncan in Hobbs, New Mexico on the glorious day of September 17, 1959. He attended Hobbs Municipal schools and graduated from Hobbs High School.
Tim Duncan was an amazing man, devoted father to his two sons Timothy and Mark of whom he was extremely proud, and to his grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. He enjoyed hunting and camping with his sons, barbecuing wtih family and friends, and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football after church on Sundays. Tim enjoyed traveling. He especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, New Orleans, the Caribbean, Rome and the Vatican City. Tim Duncan was a very religious and devoted Catholic and enjoyed his time in church serving Godl. Tim was as good as they come. Honest, kind, giving, witty, well loved, and had a great laugh. Tim was engaged to be married to his beloved Kathy Horn, whom brought great comfort and joy to his life. He loved his country and was a proud member of the NRA.
Tim worked in the oilfields of Southeastern New Mexico for 30 years for various companies including ARCO, British Petroleum, and Apache. Tim was well known in the oil patch for his knowledge and expertise as was well respected by his fellow coworkers.
Tim Duncan is survived by fiance Kathy Horn of Hobbs, NM his sons Timothy Duncan and wife Taryan, Mark Duncan and wife Krissy, both of Artesia grandchildren Hannah Duncan, Emeline Duncan, Kylee Duncan, and Hailey Duncan all of Artesia mother Joy D. Duncan of Sumral, MS brothers Lon Duncan and wife Kathy of Las Cruces, NM, David Duncan and wife Monica of Hobbs, Jeff Duncan and wife Tina of Phoenix, AZ, and Greg Duncan of Avon Park, FL sister Angelia Simms and husband Jeff of Hattiesburg, MS and countless adoring nieces, nephews and friends.
Tim was predeceased by his father Marion L. Duke Duncan.
We will all miss you Tim. We will however take comfort in knowing that you are with our heavenly father as a soldier in Christ.
