Terrence Barker

Terry Barker, 64, of Hagerman, New Mexico passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 5, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 11th Bullock Avenue in Artesia with Rev. David Grousnick officiating.

Terry was born January 22, 1946 in Conway, Iowa. He was preceded in death by parents Florence Smith Barker and Fern S. Barker.

Survivors include wife Sharon Barker of Hagerman, daughter Vickie Rev. David Grousnick of Artesia, Tod Jill Barker of Tularosa, brothers Ben Marlene Barker of Cortez, Colorado and Ken Jean Barker of Maricopa, Arizona. Four grandsons: Luke, Travis, Justin and Jordan and one granddaughter, Tori as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Terry was an electrical wholesale salesman for numerous years in Colorado and Iowa. He enjoyed family activities, restoring classic and antique cars and pickups building and flying remote controlled air planes camping and fishing.

After retiring in 2007, he and Sharon moved to Hagerman, New Mexico to be near children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Hagerman Community Center for Children Youth activities at 209 East Argyle St., Hagerman, N.M. 88232.
