T.C. Thompson

June 19, 1927 — July 23, 2012

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Terpening Son Mortuary for T.C. Thompson, of Artesia.

T. C. passed away peacefully at his home Monday morning, July 23, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

Rick Leaton will officiate at the services with interment at Woodbine Cemetery. Palbearers will be family members J.D. Binkley, J.J. Fafrak, Casey Pack, Zach Pack, Bryan Smith and Jim McFarland. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Chase, George Young, Jimmy Smith, Nubbin Crouch, Martin Moreno, Rick Gromatzky, Hunky Wallace, Rick Richardson, Pat Soleman and Buddy Tulk.

Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

T. C. was born June 19, 1927 in Cherokee County, Texas the son of B. W. Thompson and Nancy Jane Blair Thompson.

He married Frances Charlene Ellis on February 12, 1946 in Mount Selman, Texas. The family came to Artesia in 1948 and made it their permanent home.

He was a carpenter by trade and founded T. C. Thompson Builder, Inc. in 1965. Heretired in 2005. When he wasnt working, he loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents by brothers John W. Thompson and A. O. Thompson and by a sister Loraine Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife Charlene of the family home son Larry Thompson and wife Helen of Artesia granddaughters Penelope Binkley and husband J. D. of Artesia, Stephanie Pack and husband Casey of Clovis, N.M., and Jennifer Thompson and Bryan Smith of Artesia and greatgrandchildren J. J. Fafrak, Zachary Pack, Makenzy Pack, Dalton Binkley and Delaney Pack.

Also surviving are brothers Ben Dan Thompson, Marvin Thompson, Blair Thompson, Wayne Thompson and Glen Thompson and sisters Jane Perry and Geneva Albritton.
