T. Pursley

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 24, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for T. Lucille Pursley, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Pursley, 91, died Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Bill Smith will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Conklin, Don Conner, Mike Deans, Mike Goss, Frank Hammond, and Bob Evan Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Brown, Cindy Herron, Ide Larez, Roy Medley, Dwayne Pounds, Wes Reed, Emma Rivera, Bill Ross, Earlene Wages. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sunday Mrs. Pursley was born August 23, 1914 in Hubbard, Texas; the daughter of George Walter Cray and Lucy Edna Schaedelbouer Cray. On April 8, 1930 she was married to James Edgar Pursley in Mt. Calm, Texas. She was a longtime area resident. He preceded her in death Feb. 21, 1975. She owned and operated several grocery stores in New Mexico and Texas. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, loved to cook, and was a great story teller. Her life experiences were filled with love and laughter, and she loved her Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by parents, by a son Walter Pursley, and by seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter Shirley Loop and husband Frank of Artesia; daughter-in-law Ann Pursley of Slaton, Texas; grandsons Ronnie Letcher of Artesia, and Randy Letcher and wife Patti of Artesia; granddaughter Robbi Bowyer and husband Shiloh of Las Cruces, N.M.; great-grandsons Ryan Letcher of Oklahoma City, Okla., Chad Letcher and wife Tabatha of Artesia, Jeff Letcher and wife Savannah of Artesia, and Brice Letcher of Artesia; great-granddaughters Tamara Letcher of Albuquerque, N.M., and Crystal Bruton of Artesia; great-great-grandchildren Ashly, Caden, Elijah, Ashton Letcher and Kristin Bruton all of Artesia; and several nieces and nephews.
