Steven Cabezuela

Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Steven Ortega Cabezuela of Artesia.

Mr. Cabezuela, 46, passed away on September 17, 2016 at Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad, NM.

Visitation will be on Wednesday at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Terpening & Son. Pallbearers are Otis Chavez Jr., Mark Cabezuela Jr., Amos Ortega Jr., Ricky De La Rosa Jr., Manuel De La Rosa Jr., Jeffery Ortega, Troy Lara and Allen Gomez. Honorary Pallbearers are Rickey De La Rosa Sr. and Lupe Cabezuela.

Steven was born on January 5, 1970 in Artesia, NM; the son of Reynaldo and Juanita (Ortega) Cabezuela. He was a lifelong Artesia resident. He was a Roustabout in the oil field. Steven was a member at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed singing, hanging out with his friends and family and was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark Cabezuela Sr. and Amos Ortega Sr. and his grandparents.

Survivors include his sisters Lisa Rodriguez and husband Abel of Artesia and Sandra Cabezuela of El Paso, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
