A memorial service is scheduled for 1 pm Saturday, February 18 at First Christian
Church Artesia, New Mexico for Stella S. Jones of Lake Arthur, New Mexico.
Mrs. Jones, 90, died on January 28, 2023 at her home in Lake Arthur.
Rev. David Grousnick will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place.
Stella was born on February 8, 1932 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; the daughter of Blas Salgado and Micaela Trujillo Salgado.
On January 15, 1956 she was married to Ray Jones.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, going fishing, camping and cookouts were one of her favorite things. She loved her children, grandchildren and all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Jones, brothers Blas Salgado Jr., Salvador Salgado and Adon Salgado, sisters Sophie Ramirez and Frances Smith.
Survivors include her daughters Judy Ramsey and husband Roger, and Wanda Phillips and husband Tim; brothers Joe Salgado and Arthur Salgado; sisters Sally Brito and Eva Abbott; grandchildren Stephanie Farris and husband Lance and their children, Brad Durham and wife April and their children, Brent White and wife Brandi and their children, and Ashlea Anderson and husband Mike and their children.
