Soledad Talavera

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Soledad H. Talavera of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Talavera, 50, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her brothers. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Talavera was born February 25, 1959 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico; the daughter of Domingo Hernandez and Felipa Bribiescas Hernandez. She came to Artesia in 1987 from Abileen, Texas. On March 3, 1987 she was married to Manuel Talavera in Artesia. Soledad was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother David B. Hernandez. Survivors include her husband Manuel Talavera of the family home; daughter Melissa Talavera of Artesia; brothers Roberto, Enrique, Domingo, Arturo, Jesus Manuel, and Alfredo Hernandez all of Artesia; and sister Lucy Gabaldon of Phoenix, Arizona.
