Socorro D Castaneda
Nuestra Querida Madre, Abuela, Bis-Abuela, Hermana, Tia y Amiga.
Our loving Mother, Grand-mother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. She loved as hard as she worked. She worked hard to raise and educate her children to live a better life filled with love, laughter and a true love for God, religion, and purpose. One of her most important words of advice to her children was "Just try to do better", She never knew a stranger, gave willingly and would go without to help anyone in need. A favorite saying was "If the Lord is willing" and lived by the Golden Rule. She was a special breed who only shared love and can never be found again if you looked for a thousand years. Socorro is definitely our generational blessings to the roots of her family tree that continue to grow and grow.
She was preceded in death by her son Ramiro Rodriguez, her parents Benino and Maria Castaneda, her brothers Francisco and Basilio Castaneda.
She was survived by her eight children, Martina Ruiz and Irma Chavez of Artesia, Jovita Anna R. Gonzolez, Enrique Rodriquez, Linda Rodriquez and Norma Pickett of California, Mary Alice Rader of Iowa, and Anthony Madrid of Idaho. Her 31 grandchildren, 56 great frandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also her her brother and sisters Joe DelaRosa, Gregoria Herrera, and Seferina Levaria all of Artesia NM.
