Sita Herrera

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 12, at Terpening Son Chapel for Sita Romero Herrera, 1109 W. Missouri Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Herrera, 83, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center.

Pablo Merjil will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Sita was born April 27, 1929 in Marfa, Texas the daughter of Eusebio Romero and Luisa Campos Romero. She came to Artesia in 1960 from Odessa, Texas.

On Oct. 1953 she was married to Elias Herrera Sr. in Marfa, Texas. He preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1986.

She was a caretaker.

She was preceded in death by parents, daughter Mary Lou Herrera, brother Adan Romero, sisters Paz Romero, Anatalia Garcia, and a greatgrandson Patrick Elia Duran.

Survivors include sons Fred Herrera of El Paso, Texas, Elisardo Herrera and wife Chin of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Elias Herrera Jr. of Artesia, and James Herrera and wife Judy of Artesia daughters Delma Herrera of Albuquerque, N.M., Velma Hernandez and husband Arthur of Artesia, JoAnn Duran and husband David of Artesia, Dianne Lopez and husband Juan of Artesia, and Sandra Hollingsworth and husband Robin of Tatum, N.M. sister Pabla Cruz and husband Joe of Guam 16 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren.
