Sipriano Garay

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 27 at Terpening Son Mortuary for Sipriano F. Garay of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Garay, 82, died Monday, January 24, 2005 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Pastor Manuel Carrera will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Garay's grandchildren. A prayer service is also planned for 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary. Mr. Garay was born December 9, 1922 in Adobes, Texas; the son of Pedro Garay and Faustina Flores Garay. On August 19, 1950 he was married to Manuela Madrid in Presidio, Texas. He came to Artesia in 1950 from Texas. He was a farmer and member of the Assembly of God Ancla de Fe. Mr. Garay was preceded in death by his parents; and by two sisters, and three brothers. Survivors include his wife Manuela Garay of the family home; daughters Margaret Alvarado and husband Manuel of Hobbs, N.M., Mary Aguilar and husband Phil of Artesia, and Virginia Garay of Artesia; a brother Joe Garay of Artesia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
