Shirley Mattavich

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Upper Hope Cemetery, Hope, New Mexico for Shirley Mattavich, 6134 Pecan Lane, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mrs. Mattavich, 68, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at her home. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services. Mrs. Mattavich was born March 6, 1941 in Long Beach, California; the daughter of Robert William Stephen and Ella Maye Trimble Stephen. She was raised in the Hope and Artesia area before moving to California in 1964. On July 13, 1974 she was married to Matt Mattavich in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a secretary and member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband Matt Mattavich of Las Cruces; sister Syble Nunnelee of Las Cruces; brothers Jerry Stephen of Roswell, N.M., and Robert Stephen of Weed, N.M.
