Sheryl Clark

March 18, 1954 — April 9, 2023

Services will be held at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia, New Mexico at 10 a.m. Monday April 17, 2023.

Sheryl Kay Clark passed away Easter morning, April 9,2023 at the age of 69.

Sheryl was born in Artesia, New Mexico to Joe and Violet Wood. She loved to tell stories about her childhood, like the time her and her siblings built a snowman taller than their house. She had a love for camping, gardening, and animals, especially her dog Oreo. Sheryl was a devoted Christian mother to her six children. She always worked hard to provide for them and was happiest when she was with them and her grandchildren. Caring for others came naturally for her, whether it was raising her kids, waitressing, or working as a caregiver. Sheryl was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude, despite the many hardships she faced. She always turned to God in her times of need. She was a great example of strength and courage and a great blessing to her family.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Violet Wood, brother Wayne Wood, sister Sue Trujill, sons Troy, Tommy, and William Briscoe, and her daughter Rachel Ontiveros.

She is survived by her son Chris Clark, daughter Robin Pyle, brothers Bill and Tommy Wood, her fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She will be missed and remembered dearly by those who loved and knew her.
