Sharon Starr

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Sharon Bernice Starr of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Starr, 78, died December 6, 2019 in Artesia.

Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Starr, Rocky Starr, Bryan Williams, Jonah Holland, Kelly Starr and Woody Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Letty Baker, Scott Wool and Elijah Letcher.

Sharon was born August 27, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Irvin Goodson and Frances (McRae) Goodson.

Sharon married Roland Starr in 1957 in Artesia, NM.. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Sharon devoted herself to God, her family and being a wonderful homemaker, always being the one with answers when trouble arrised. She enjoyed music, singing and baking. Sharon's love and faith in Jesus was known by all who love her. She was admired for her warm heart and generosity.



She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Jimmy Starr.

Survivors include her husband Roland Starr of Artesia; son Kelly Starr of Roswell, NM; daughter Wendy Wright of Artesia; sisters Mary Ann Sperry of Houston, TX; Kay Pennington of Tyler, TX and Molly Gerwe of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
