Sharon Hickey

Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, at Terpening Son Chapel for Sharon Hickey of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Hickey, 59, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at her home. David Brunson will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Crouch, Carl Morgan, Steven Wilson, Tim Baize, Steve Shaw, Rodney Shaw, Harry Shaw, and Keith Stone. Mrs. Hickey was born January 11, 1949 in Ft. Collins, Colorado; the daughter of Henry P. Meyer and Dorothy Hartung Meyer. On August 20, 1968 she was married to Albert J. Hickey in Sidney, Nebraska. She came to Artesia in 1972 from Carney, Nebraska. He preceded her in death January 2008. She was also preceded in death by her father, Henry, in December of 1980. Sharon was an Office Manager for Morgan Tools and throughout her career she held executive administrative positions. She was a member of Grace Fellowship, active in community bible study, the leader of the Hebraich Dance Troupe, and a former member of the Junior Women's Club. Survivors include her mother Dorothy Meyer of Artesia; son Christopher Hickey of Artesia; sisters Gwen Stone and husband Keith of Sidney, Nebraska, and Judy Shaw and husband Steve of Rio Rancho, N.M.; nieces Lisa Guthrie, Shanon Myers, Brandi Mummer, Amy Hecker, and all of their families; and best friends Patti Crouch and husband Mike and family and Kathie Ragsdale and family.
