Santos Valenzuela

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Santos Grado Valenzuela of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Valenzuela, 84, joined the Lord on September 17, 2019 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He left this earth peacefully surrounded by his family.

Fr. Frances Lazer will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trae Montoya, Luis Carlos Morales, Tristen Montoya, Gonzalo Montoya, III., Danny Montoya, and Tootie McNeil. Honorary pallbearers will be Abel Montoya, Chris McNeil, Jeremy Montoya, and Thomas Baeza.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at St. Anthony's Church at 7:00 p.m.

Santos was born April 19th, 1935 in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juana and German Valenzuela.

He worked on many different farms, throughout his ages including Bud Aaron and Funk Farms. He loved tending to his different types of gardens at his home, and enjoyed riding his bike everywhere. Santos loved dancing. His faith in God was a passion. He was a brother, a father, a tio, and a grandfather. He was anything you needed him to be. He filled many different shoes. His love was unforgettable and undeniable to anyone that crossed his path. Tio Santos loved everyone, especially his honorary son Gabriel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juana and German Valenzuela; four brothers Felix,,Felipe, Catarino, and Manuel Valenzuela; sister Patricia Montoya; nieces Natalia Valenzuela, Gloria Valenzuela, and Guadalupe Baeza; and nephews Eric Segura and Javier Montoya.

He is survived by his honorary son Gabriel and wife Ashley of Artesia, NM; Gabriel's children Luis Carlos Morales and wife Yasmin. Alexis Sosa and husband Carlos, Trae Montoya, Tristen Montoya, J'ryn Carrasco, Aliezah Bustamante, Mateo, Jayce, and Alexxiz; sister Lala Armendariz of Arlington, TX; nieces Mary Pasillas of Roswell, NM. Juanita Aguilar of Cottonwood, NM and Rosa McNeil and Husband Richard of Artesia, NM; nephews Gonzalo Montoya JR and wife Diana of Dexter, NM, Abel Montoya of Lake Arthur, and Danny Montoya of Roswell, NM; god-son Gonzalo Montoya, 111;. grand baby Emery Sosa; and numerous nephews and nieces.
