Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, November 21 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia, N.M. for longtime Artesia resident Santiago Chavarria Jimmy Luevano of Chino Valley, Arizona. Mr. Luevano, 49, died Friday, November 15, 2002 in Arizona. Father Paul Murtagh will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noel Marquez, Mack Catano, Ishmael Chavarria, Calletano Chavarria, Tommy Ray Chavarria, Dwayne Oliver, Dennis Ybarra, and Michael Perez. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace. Jimmy was born July 9, 1953 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Elias Luevano and Maria Chavarria Luevano. He had served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia until moving to Arizona three years ago where he worked as a general laborer. He was preceded in death by his father; and by a niece, Selena Luevano in 1992. Survivors include his mother Maria Luevano of Artesia; a daughter Sasha Luevano of Lubbock, Texas; sisters Ida Perez and husband Ismael of Artesia and Dolores Luevano of Artesia; and a brother Elias Luevano, Jr. and wife Carmen of Lovington, N.M.
