Sammy Madrid, Jr.

A viewing for Samuel "Sammy" Madrid, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Terpening & Son Chapel with a rosary to follow at 6:30 pm at Our Lady of Grace Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Church. Burial will follow immediately at Woodbine Cemetery with a reception at the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Madrid, 51, died on April 11, 2024 in El Paso, Texas, with his daughter at his side.

Sammy was born on June 14, 1972 in Artesia, to Samuel Madrid, Sr. and Virginia Perez. 

He was a long life resident of Artesia, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He was a CDL driver for 13 years, and was extremely proud of his accomplishments. He was a hard worker, and never depended on anyone. His jokes and his confidence would make anyone laugh. He had a smile that would light up a room. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Virgina Perez, his stepmother Josie Madrid, stepsister Tera Delgado, maternal grandmother Elisa Reese Perez, maternal grandfather Julio Perez Sr., paternal grandmother Refugia Madrid, paternal grandfather Santiago Madrid. 

Survivors include his daughter Shelbi Teel / husband Clifford Teel, grandsons Nehemiah, Ethan, Austin, all from Las Cruces. 
Father Samuel Madrid Sr., sisters Sylvia Mariscal, and Stephanie Madrid Lara. Stepbrothers Gabriel Delgado, and John Delgado, along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers: Jesus Martinez, Anthony Duran, Steve Perez, Mikey Benavidez, Frank Benavidez, Julio Leyva.

Honorary Pallbearers: Nehemiah Silvas, Ethan Teel, Austin Teel, Julio Perez Jr., Joe Perez.
