Sam Kafton

Memorial services are scheduled at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 22, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Sam P. Kafton, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Kafton, 86, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at Casa Maria Nursing Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Rev. Robbie Boyd will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Kafton was born July 4, 1918 in Colliers, West Virginia; the son of Samuel P. Kafton and Mary Nemath Kafton. On April 12, 1941 he was married to Ann Pustovarh in Follansbee, West Virginia. They came from there to Artesia in June of 1953. He was a retired coal miner and potash miner. Mr. Kafton was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and by a son Richard Kafton in 1995. Survivors include his wife Ann Kafton of the family home; and a grandson Rick Kafton and wife Kim of Artesia. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to favorite charity.
