Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Salome Machuca.
A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church.
Salome Machuca, 75, beloved Father and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on June 10, 2019. He entered this world on October 1, 1943 in Marfa, TX, born to Salome Sr. and Magdalena (Cano) Machuca. In his teenage years he worked at the Runyan Ranch in Mayhill, NM but constantly kept his eye on the oil field business. In the late 1960s his great friend Jose Granado helped him obtain a job with Kersey Drilling Company. This was a start to a 45-year career in the oil business. In 1976, he joined Newmont Oil Company and worked for them until 1984 when Yates Petroleum Corporation purchased the operator rights. He retired from Yates in 2014 and changed his focus to walking and helping out where he could. He enjoyed fishing and camping along with attending Our lady of Grace church and praying the rosary.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father Salome Machuca Sr. and Magdalena Machuca, his brothers Andres Machuca, Salvador Machuca Sr., Ruben Machuca, Alvaro Machuca and sister Elena Jurado.
He is survived by his daughter Yolanda Machuca and fiancé Andy Brito of Roswell, sons Javier Machuca and wife Royanne of Albuquerque and Luis Machuca and fiancé Amy Lara; brother Alberto Machuca; sister Sofia Garcia; grandchildren Alessia Rodriguez, Angela Rodriguez and Moises Rodriguez III, Lauren Machuca, Jacqueline Machuca, Xavier Machuca, Trisela Machuca, Vrisela Machuca, Gemini Machuca, Zemini Machuca, Lilian Machuca, Luis Salomon Machuca and Lovelyn Machuca; and four great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
